House on Dirt Road is a private modern vacation home on 40 acres with Ponderosa pines, Douglas firs and a beautiful riparian area, with beaver ponds and river access. There is private access to the Methow river and the MVSTA trails, for winter cross-country skiing, and hiking and biking the rest of the year.

This is a four-bedroom 2500 sq ft single story wheelchair-friendly home, which can accommodate up to eight people comfortably. Three bedrooms have sliding-glass doors to the outdoors. It has wood floors and large windows with views of Goat Peak, meadows, and beaver ponds. The bedrooms are all arranged off the common hallway, as are, also, the 2 bathrooms. Three of the bedrooms have king beds, and the fourth, a queen water bed. One bathroom has shower and tub, and the other a roll-in steam shower. This second bathroom is wheelchair accessible.

Also, and how cool is this? There is a 220 volt outlet in the garage that can be used for charging electric car batteries. It is a regular 220 with a dryer style outlet. It is not one of the $500 special ones that charge in 2 hours, just a regular 220 volt outlet.

The house is designed primarily around the great room, which houses the kitchen, the dining area, and living room, as well as a wonderful view of Goat Peak and the river bottom-land. From this great room, one can either go down the hall to the bedrooms, which are all oriented to the views, or else to a 'quiet room' which houses the TV/DVD. The kitchen, with propane stove, has plenty of room for help. And the dining area has space for 10. The two-car garage is available for parking, as well as providing a heated area to wax skis.

We have stayed at the House on Dirt Road for ten years. It has become a very important place for this group of 7 women. We love the very well equipped kitchen, the steam bath, the comfortable beds, the gathering place in the living room. We are very grateful to the owners. Much good cooking, generative conversation and fabulous skiing happen while we are at the House on Dirt Road.

We have rented this house for several years now and have reserved it for next year. It’s a great place for our group of friends to come and enjoy the ski trails and relax in the evening. All of us love the steam shower after a day of skiing!

The new (to us) path to the ski trails was helpful.

We enjoyed the steam shower after a hard day of skiing. Also, it was great to be able to travel on foot/skis to the MCT (200 yards?). The kitchen was very well equipped and organized--loved the electric kettle.

We have rented the Dirt House 4-5 years now and keep coming back. We love the beautiful setting looking out the large windows, the ease of skiing from the front door, comfortable beds and excellently appointed kitchen with every cooking utensil, pots & pans and appliance we could possibly use allowing the six of us to cook and eat delicious meals.
